| No expensive hardware required. A PC to radio interface with adjustable voltage level settings, and PTT output for the radio is used to transfer the Pocsag signal to the radio's data input line. Tested with a MOTOROLA Mitrek mobile, Motorola RADIUS series (GM300/350/900) and Q&D Bantam (Crystal version). |

1. DOS based POCSAG 512 bps (TSR) Encoder.
| The POCSAG Encoder is a Memory Resident (TSR) Program, and encodes text into 512 bps POCSAG data to a selected comport. The Encoder supports Com 1 to 4 and Inverted signaling. |
| The POCSAG output from the PC's comport is fed via a simple opto-isolator interface circuit, to a radio transmitter. The interface circuit provides protection to the PC, PTT, and an adjustable + ve & - ve voltage, which is fed to a crystal controlled radio's oscillator, or the data input of a synthesized radio. (e.g. Motorola Radius GM series supports data transmission) to give F.S.K. (POCSAG) output to the Pager. |
| Receiving data via radio link: A analog to digital converter circuit is used to convert the discriminator audio to digital data, and fed to the comport of the PC. The PC converts this data into POCSAG and re-sends it via the radio transmitter to the Pager. This configuration can be used with a UHF link, a Repeater or a Simplex system, giving access to High Sites via radio signaling and unlimited range. |

| Repeater/Link system: Uses a basic 80286 or higher PC, Stiffy drive, 2 Mb Ram and a radio, (no hard disk, monitor or keyboard). The software has built in, user defined, selective receive and send coding, delay line settings etc. This means that more than one transmitter can be in the same area, and be selectively enabled to send messages. Ideal for gap filling of poor reception areas. |
